Reece Rowan Gritzmacher
Welcome! My name is Reece (they/them) and I am a poet and prose writer (creative nonfiction, fiction, scholarly, investigative, and sometimes a combination thereof) profoundly affected by the places I’ve been fortunate to call home and the people (human and otherwise) I cross paths with. I currently live in a prairie city home to many beavers and magpies after five years in a mountain town surrounded by ponderosa pines. I grew up hugging trees in the Pacific Northwest.
My creative and scholarly work often engages with settler colonialism, queerness, and the buried. I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Northern Arizona University and am at work on a PhD in English at the University of Alberta.
I’m far better at eating fruit snacks and saying hi to birds than engaging in web design, but there might be hope for this place yet.
